DESCRIBE YOUR AESTHETIC IN 3 WORDS.
Nostalgia. Secrets. Beauty.
EVERYONE IS LISTENING. WHAT DO YOU SAY ?
Keep listening as sometimes it's more important than speaking.
COLLABORATORS YOU’VE WORKED WITH WHO BECAME YOUR GO-TO NINJAS ?
So many! I really trust my heads of departments I collaborate with on my films and like to see what ideas they come up with first after interpreting the concept. By respecting and trusting their craft they might bring incredibly innovative ideas to the table that you would never have thought of. You can always bring it back to what you might have had in mind originally, but it's these moments where the art of collaborating can produce magic, and give your project a distinct personality.
WHAT’S THE MOST EXCITING THING ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY TODAY ?
Seeing women in film, especially behind the camera, becoming more visible. It gives you a sense of pride and the real thought that that could be you one day.
HOW DO YOU THINK STYLE AND POP-CULTURE WILL CHANGE IN 2017 ?
Pop culture is such a fun reference for me to use in my films, I like that it changes so we are left with iconic products / situations that we usually identify with our youth or nostalgia. I'm not sure how it will change in 2017 but I'm interested to see.
